Remember Who you are
by Sandra P. Lucas
The Soul is our true essence.  The body we walk in is a vessel that
houses our Soul.  The body is a covering or shall we say, a cover-up, of
our true identity.  In the beginning we chose to take on a physical body.
We chose to forget who we are and what we are.  We chose to
experience the ‘human’ existence.  This planet is a schoolhouse and we
came here to learn, to grow, to evolve, to create.  It was not meant for us
to ‘forever’ forget who we are.  It was not meant for us to be in a position
that would keep us from returning to our true home.

We are on a journey.  A journey that will take us back to the Source of our
true existence.  During our life’s journey we are suppose to reach a point
of ‘remembrance.’  What are we suppose to remember on this journey of
ours?  We are suppose to remember that we are not what we see in the
mirror.  We are not our physical body.  We are not what we think.  We are
not our attitudes and personalities.  We are not our religion.  We are not
our culture.  We are not our name.  We are not our career.  We are simply
not what we think we are, and we are definitely not what society has us to
believe.

We are not our ‘Ego’ self.  Our ego is not our true self.  Our ego is our
driving force.  Without our ego we could not survive.  It is a part of us.
There are those who think the ego is a bad thing.  It is not.  It is only bad
when it is an ego ‘out of control.’  Just as anything else is bad when in
excess.  The ego gives us strength and determination.  It drives us to
progress and move forward.  It gives us courage and helps us to make
decisions.  The ego is in every one.  It’s a part of our make-up.  A
necessary part of our make-up.  It is how we survive on this planet.  Just
because there are those who are guilty of having an ‘ego out of control’
does not mean that the ego is a bad thing.  If that were the case, then
would you say food is a bad thing because of those who overeat?  Would
you say sex is a bad thing because of the rapist and perverts?
Understand, the ego is a necessity.  As long as we have a physical body,
we have an ago.

We are a Spirit.  Within our physical body is a spiritual body.  Our spiritual
body needs nourishment just like our physical body.  We tend to feed our
physical body more than our spiritual body.  When the physical body does
not eat, it suffers.  It is the same with the spiritual body.  When the
spiritual body is not fed spiritual food, it gets lost in the illusions of life and
becomes dormant.  How can you feed the spiritual body?  When you eat
pure physical food, after chewing and swallowing, stop and take a few
slow deep breaths.  This will feed your spiritual body.  Most importantly,
meditation, listening to healing music, reading material containing spiritual
knowledge and wisdom, yoga, breathing techniques, and anything else
that connects with your Spirit will best feed your spiritual body.  The more
the Spirit is feed the faster it will awaken, and the sooner you will realize
that you are a Spirit having a human experience, not a human having a
spiritual experience.

When you awaken to this fact, your journey
to Truth begins.  As you travel this journey
of knowledge and wisdom, you will
ultimately seek answers to 'Who am I?',
'What am I?', and 'Why am I here?'  You
will become more aware of your true
identity and reach higher states of
consciousness as the answers are
revealed.
